Emergency Garage Door Repair in Goodyear, AZ
Call (623) 546-8868. Emergency calls are answered 24/7. Until a technician arrives, stop pressing the opener button and keep everyone away from the door.
Take Your Hand Off The Opener Button
Call (623) 546-8868. Our emergency line is answered 24/7, nights and weekends included. Then do the things below while you wait, because the next button press is the one that can turn a spring problem into a bent door.
When you call, tell us what you see: a gap in the spring above the door, a cable hanging loose, one side lower than the other, or a door that won’t move. That helps us bring the right parts.
- Stop running the opener. With a broken spring, the opener is trying to lift weight the spring used to carry, and pressing the button again can strip its gear, bend the top section or throw the cables off the drums.
- Don’t pull the red release cord with the door up and a broken spring. The opener may be what’s holding the door, and releasing it can drop the door hard.
- Keep hands clear. Stay away from the section joints, the springs, the cables and the bottom brackets. Keep kids and pets out of the garage.
- Close the door by hand only if it’s balanced. Lift it to about halfway and let go. If it stays put, the springs are working and you can lower it gently. If it drops or fights you, leave it.
- Don’t drive under a door that’s crooked or partly open. Wait for us to secure it.
If your car is trapped and you need it before morning, say so on the call.

Monsoon Season Brings The Worst Calls
The National Weather Service counts monsoon season as June 15 to Sept 30. Dust storms, outages and sudden wind all come with it, and a door stuck open turns into a bigger problem fast.
NWS dust storm warnings regularly name “I-10 near Avondale-Goodyear.” The city’s own emergency page lists dust storms with winds up to 60 mph and near-zero visibility among local hazards. An open garage takes that dust straight in, along with anything the wind picks up. A door stuck halfway can also catch wind like a sail and pull out of its tracks.
If a storm is on the way and the door won’t close, call before it hits. If the opener is the only problem and the springs are good, we can talk you through the manual release on the phone.

We cover all of Goodyear. Each neighborhood page covers how the garages there were built and what tends to wear out first.
What We Do When We Get There
The first job is making it safe. If the door is hanging, we clamp it in the tracks so it can’t fall. If a spring has broken, any spring still wound gets its tension let off before anything else is touched. Then we work out what failed and why, so it doesn’t fail the same way again.
The usual causes:
- A broken torsion spring, the one we hear about most. Details on pairs and balancing are on our spring replacement page.
- A cable off the drum, usually because one side caught or the door was forced. The door hangs crooked. See cable and track repair.
- Rollers out of the track, often after a car bumps the door or the wind shoves it.
- An opener that died in an outage. Sometimes it’s a tripped breaker or a burned board. Opener repair covers the rest.
When a part has to be ordered, the first goal is getting the door closed and secured so the house isn’t left open.
Parts That Can Hurt You
Torsion springs and bottom brackets are under heavy tension all the time, even with the door closed. Pros tell homeowners to leave both alone. A winding bar can slip, and a bottom bracket loosened under spring tension can fly off with the cable.
A door that’s off its tracks is the other big risk. It can come down in one piece, so leave it where it is.
If the door is jammed and the opener keeps humming or clicking, unplug it at the ceiling. That stops anyone in the house from hitting the remote out of habit while you wait, and it keeps a stalled motor from overheating.
After Hours vs Regular Hours
Regular service runs Monday to Friday 7am to 7pm and Saturday 8am to 5pm. The emergency line covers everything outside that.
A door that’s closed and safe, with no car you need until morning, can usually wait for regular hours. If the house is open, the door could fall, or someone’s stuck, call (623) 546-8868 now. For anything that can wait, you can request repair from our Goodyear team during regular hours.
With monsoon season running June 15 to Sept 30, put the number in your phone before the first storm, and keep it where you can find it in the dark.
Questions We Hear a Lot
What Counts as a Garage Door Emergency?
A car trapped inside, a door stuck open at night, a door hanging crooked or off its track, a snapped spring, or a door that won't close before a storm. If the house is open to the street or the door could fall, call the 24/7 line at (623) 546-8868. A noisy door or a slow opener can usually wait for regular hours.
Should I Pull The Red Release Cord if The Door Is Stuck Open?
Not if a spring is broken. The springs hold most of the door's weight, and the opener is holding the rest. Pull the release with the door up and a broken spring, and the door can drop fast. Leave it where it is, keep people and pets out from under it, and call us. If the springs are fine, the release is safe to use.
Can I Close a Door That's Stuck Open Before a Dust Storm?
Only if it's balanced and the springs and cables are intact. Lift it halfway by hand. If it stays put, you can close it gently by hand, keeping your fingers away from the section joints. If it drops, feels very heavy, or one side sits lower than the other, leave it and call. Don't force a crooked door down.
